Signature in the Cell

with 5 comments

I’ve not yet read it, but Dr. Stephen C. Meyer has a new book out entitled Signature in the Cell: DNA Evidence for Intelligent Design. Dr. Meyer’s book is featured on a new site and is well worth a visit.

  1. Good for you guys! He was the first commenter I ever banned. I really tried to avoid it but his logical fallacy-fests were taking too much of my time. My favorite was when he insisted that Stalin disagreed with Darwin and so do I, so I’m like Stalin. Sure, Ed.

    It got worse from there.

He is seriously pro-legalized abortion so if you ever do interact with him be sure to ask why such an allegedly pro-science guy ignores the scientific fact that a new human being is created at conception. It is fun to watch him squirm.

    • Neil:
I spent some time crafting my guidelines and intend on holding to them, expecting everyone to do same.
They’re not optional. Perhaps I should change to “Rules.”

In my estimation, Mr. Darnell committed the ad hominem fallacy violating guideline #2 when speaking to Doug’s inability to respond, rather than addressing the content/substance of Dr. Meyer’s presentation.

  2. [...] I’ve been banned from two more blogs run by smiling Christ0-totalitarians, Dr. Doug Groothuis in Denver (second or third banning, I can’t recall), and another pontificator of Christography, Paul Adams in Arizona. [...]

  3. I have banned Mr. Darell since the Guidelines as stated on this post have not been followed. However, since the attitude he portrays (for those who read his posts) is a common one, I will be responding to it in general, as time permits.

  4. This is why I banned Mr. Darrell from my blog. He is a broken record of bad arguments. Meyer has much on the predictions made by his information argument and why it is scientific. The very discovery of the information nature of DNA shows it to be designed since this specified complexity cannot be explained by chance or natural law of the combination of both. Mr. Darrell is dismissing without arguing
